DENVER, Colo. - Colorado Parks and Wildlife has teamed up with Girl Scouts of Colorado for a Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend, July 13-14. Ten Colorado state parks will be participating in weekend activities to help Girl Scouts enjoy their time in the great outdoors.
This state parks weekend is a great way for Girl Scouts to share their love of Colorado’s outdoors and to get to know their local state park. Girls can attend as part of a troop or with their family and will earn an exclusive patch for attending.
The following parks will be participating in the state parks weekend with a variety of events such as ranger programs, guided hikes, nature center tours, opportunities to explore unique park features, overnight camping and girl scout booths.
“We are really excited to have Girl Scout troops and their families coming out to our park this weekend,” said Michelle Seubert, Park Manager at Barr Lake State Park. “Colorado’s outdoors has so much to offer, and to get to share that with this next generation is something really special. We have some great activities planned and we hope that we’ll be seeing some girls inspired to come back for another visit after their weekend adventures.”
The Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend is an excellent opportunity to enjoy Colorado in the summer. With the warm weather and scenic locations, this weekend will surely inspire future outdoor adventures for everyone. Hundreds of people across the state have already registered for events and are going to fill Colorado state parks with Girl Scout green on July 13 and 14.
